You decide which way your character moves, so you can use open space, shut down opponents, chase the ball, or get into a good position to receive a pass or take a shot. When your team gets the ball, use the ball to pass to your teammates and shoot toward the opponent’s goal when you see an opportunity to score. Sprint mode can be activated to accelerate when chasing the ball, breaking into space or shrugging off defenders.
When the opponent takes possession of the ball, the controls change to allow you to select a defender, challenge for the ball and man mark the player in possession.
Control can be transferred to the defender who is best positioned to stop an attack and try to win the ball back from the opposition. You have to respond swiftly to shifts in possession, and instantly flip between attacking and defensive methods.

Switch to the Nearest Player
If the opposition gets the ball, don’t automatically keep controlling the same player. Identify the teammate closest to the ball and switch to them as needed.
This can help you shut down attacks more swiftly.
Stay Between Opponent and Goal
Good defensive positioning is about robbing alternatives from the opponent. Try to get your player between the ball carrier and the goal. This makes the opponent make tougher decisions.
Don't Chase Recklessly
Sometimes the best defence is not to be close to the ball carrier. If you are excessively aggressive, the enemy can go around you.
Stay close, stay useful, and wait for your chance to challenge.
React Quickly After Losing the Ball
When your team loses the ball, change from attacking to defending. Fast reflexes in defence can stop the opponent from having a serious chance to score.
